SupportEd
Empowering Educators, Transforming Futures: Professional Development for a Connected Classroom.
SupportEd, created by SparkPoint, is an innovative professional development program designed to empower future educators and college faculty. As former educators, we understand that students thrive in environments where they feel emotionally safe and connected to their teachers.
Program Overview: SupportEd addresses urgent issues in education by equipping educators with essential skills in mental health literacy, trauma-informed practices, self-care, and fostering authentic relationships. Our program is offered at no charge to ensure accessibility and equity for all participants.
Program Goals and Key Features: SupportEd aims to empower future educators by equipping them with tools to create trauma-informed, inclusive classrooms and to support college faculty in addressing mental health issues and building strong student relationships. By increasing awareness, reducing stigma, and encouraging help-seeking behaviors, we promote well-being and foster a sense of community within educational settings. Our program includes discussions, practical exercises, and activities to reinforce learning. Delivered in three sessions per semester, SupportEd offers an engaging learning experience. Success is evaluated based on participant feedback, improved interactions between educators and students, and enhanced student outcomes.
SupportEd aims to make a significant impact by empowering educators to build supportive, trauma-informed classrooms. By focusing on mental health literacy, self-care, and strong relationships, we aim to transform education and positively influence countless students. Join us in this transformative journey and help create a lasting, positive impact.
